Frequently Asked Questions
What is a progressive dinner?
Traditionally, a progressive dinner is a social event in which different courses of a meal are taken at different people's houses. We do things a little differently. The event will begin at The Wellness Center at Antioch College (South Gym), where attendees will enjoy refreshments, receive their dinner assignments, and view a brief program. Attendees will then depart to their respective households for their main course, where they will have a chance to mingle with friends and fellow community members. After dinner, all will reconvene back at the South Gym to enjoy dessert.
Will childcare be available?
Childcare is available this year (donations welcome!) at the Yellow Springs Children's Center, at 320 Corry St, from 6-10 pm. A licensed childcare provider and volunteers will be on site to care for kids 18 months and up.
Can I sit with my friends?
The spirit of our Progressive Dinner is rooted in the idea of enjoying the company of fellow community members while supporting the mission of Yellow Springs Home, Inc. Dinner assignments will be made based on a number of factors, however, attendees will not be able to choose who they are seated with. For this event, groups are limited to two people.
How do I know where I'm going for dinner?
Upon arrival at The Wellness Center at Antioch College (South Gym), attendees will be given their host assignments.
I have an accessibility concern or dietary restriction. Can Home, Inc. accommodate me?
Yes! When purchasing tickets online or in person, please make sure to fill out the accompanying form. There is a space for special notes/dietary restrictions.
I will be out of town, but would still like to donate or participate. How can I do that?
While there are many ways to support the Progressive Dinner, if you are unable to attend but would still like to donate, the best way is to donate your tickets to a Home, Inc. homeowner or low-income client or member. When purchasing tickets online or in-person, there is an option to do so.
