Alexandra Scott
Alexandra Scott (she/they) is an Antioch College alum who moved to Yellow Springs in 2012 from Columbus, Ohio.
Having attended the Yellow Springs Street Fair since before she was old enough to walk, Alex would one day end up coordinating the twice-yearly event from 2015-2020 as the Special Events Coordinator at the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce, where she would serve as Interim Director for 9 months before accepting a position with Yellow Springs Home, Inc. in July of 2021.
A self-proclaimed lifelong learner, Alex's passions in life are centered on learning and experiencing as much as possible in life. Alex has myriad interests and hobbies, highest-held being writing (mainly poetry), photography, video games, and music, as well as adding to this list on a regular basis. Along with these many passions, Alex works to live a life that is guided by a love and faith in humanity that has been cultivated by the privilege of being part of amazing communities such as Yellow Springs and the arts communities in Columbus.
Ask anyone who knew Alex as a child and they will describe a (very talkative and energetic) child who cared immensely for fairness and justice from a young age. As Alex grew and learned more about the world around her, her political and personal interests in widespread systemic and interpersonal equity and justice grew. Alex was invited to the Yellow Springs Home, Inc. board as an interim member in 2016, later becoming a full board member and serving on the membership and Progressive Dinner planning committees.
As Outreach & Fundraising Manager, Alex is the Lead Convener of the Inclusive and Resilient Yellow Springs Coalition, of which Home, Inc. is a member. Alex's work also includes grant-writing, Miller Fellow and AmeriCorps VISTA supervision, community outreach and engagement, and marketing - including affirmative marketing efforts, fundraising events, and social media. Alex is happy to have been able to follow her heart to join the Home, Inc. team, and is grateful to continue to be a part of its important mission.
