2023 AmeriCorps Vistas
Kelly Hager

Kelly Hager is from Vienna, Virginia. Kelly was a part of Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) working with different nonprofit organizations across the north central region. Some of the work consisted of helping people with low income housing, environmental conservation, infrastructure improvement and environmental stewardship. Some of her hobbies consist of photography, being outside, watching and playing sports. Kelly is excited to help others and the community.
Chebrya Jeffrey

Brie joined the team as a Vista this March. She lives in Springfield, OH, near her family and also where she’s from.
She graduated from Wittenberg University with a self-designed major called Social Frameworks. Occupied by questions such as "What’s the relationship between individuals and their societies?" and "Is there a such thing as an objective bettering of society?," she says she left school with more questions than answers.
Post grad, she roamed around. On one of her first trips, she met a woman named Joani who would later invite her to her homestead in Virginia and introduce her to organic gardening. She’s also landed places like Twin Eagles Wilderness School in Idaho, the Hobo Convention in Iowa and a program called City Year in New York City. She says, “if I had one word to describe what I’ve been trying to accomplish, it’d be connection.”
Brie is ever motivated to deepen her sense of place and awareness of where things come from and what people need. She looks forward to meeting new people in Ohio and to doing something useful.

Thanks to the Ohio CDC Association, Home, Inc. is able to benefit from the AmeriCorps VISTA program. VISTAs are full-time volunteers who pledge a year of service to help build capacity for mission growth at nonprofits who are working to alleviate poverty in America. In exchange for their service, VISTAs receive hands-on nonprofit experience, a monthly stipend, and benefits.
Previous YS Home, Inc. AmeriCorps VISTAs include: Eric Pitcher, Kim Novak, Ellie Ferguson, Cait Bothwell, Adam Abraham, Eleanor Gaston, Kineta Sanford, Ashlee Hudson, Erin Brown, Rachael Chromec.
We are grateful for their service and they are, and always will be, part of the Home, Inc. Family.
