Emily Seibel, Executive Director
Emily Seibel has served as Executive Director of Yellow Springs Home, Inc. since 2011. She graduated from Antioch College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Global Studies and a Concentration in Economics and went on to earn a Certificate in Project Management from Antioch University Midwest. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree through the Holmes Institute. She is a certified Housing Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council and completed a Business Planning Fellowship through the National Community Land Trust Network.
Emily has championed the successful completion of a variety of affordable housing projects including multifamily rental, single family for-sale, new construction, and acquisition rehab. She has grown the community land trust portfolio by more than 400% to over $4,000,000, removing land from the speculative market to serve the community, forever. She has also overseen expanding the breadth and depth of client-driven, community-first programs, including co-founding the Inclusive and Resilient Yellow Springs Coalition.
Emily currently serves as the Board President of the statewide community development trade group, the Ohio CDC Association, where she is actively involved in advancing policy initiatives and increasing pass-through financial resources for member organizations. In 2018, she was appointed to the Global Land Alliance Center for CLT Innovation Technical Advisory Committee and currently serves on its Racial Equity Working Group. She has consulted with community land trust start-up peers on behalf of the Grounded Solutions Network and NeighborWorks America.
Emily has presented at numerous conferences, webinars, and trainings in several states and online on a variety of topics including leadership, community land trusts, business planning, and fundraising and is published in Shelterforce Magazine. She previously served on the board of the National Community Land Trust Network, where she chaired the Community and Capacity Building Committee. In 2021, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Antioch College, where she assists with finances, facilities, and strategic planning.
Emily's prior work experience includes a variety of roles in higher education including academic support, disability services, and study abroad administration. She interned with nonprofit organizations in her native Lawrence, Kansas; on White Earth Reservation, Minnesota; and in the Himalayan Mountains in Sikkim, India. While in college she earned a scholarship to study emerging capitalism in Eastern Europe, traveling to Poland, Germany, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. In 2011, she co-founded Yellow Springs Pride.
