Charlotte Norman

Charlotte is a second year Antioch College student on her way to a Media Arts degree. Originally from upstate New York, Charlotte came to Yellow Springs after completing her high school education in Syria and Hong Kong.

Living in such different communities has given Charlotte a deep appreciation for their intricacies, and she is very grateful to be working with an organizational so integral to the Yellow Springs community. This is Charlotte's second year as a Miller Fellow at Home, Inc. and she is very happy to have landed at an organization with such a noble mission and supported by such a dedicated and inspiring staff.

Essence Provost

Essence Provost is a first year student at Antioch College and plans on self designing her major, EnviroPolitics. Essence was born in Louisiana and moved to Texas with her family when she was five. She is a first generation scholar and is extremely happy with her decision to choose Antioch.

Essence has two brothers and a passion for civil rights, poetry, and the environment. Before coming to Antioch she won an award from the NAACP and ACT-SO. She loves politics, uncovering truths, and making actual change to progress the people of a nation.

According to Essence: “Of all the places I’ve lived, I never really felt the sense of strong, uplifting, involved community I feel here in Yellow Springs. I truly believe that Yellow Springs Home, Inc. is the start I need. I am blessed with an opportunity like this. I hope that we (Home, Inc.) can continue creating more permanent stewardship of land for community benefit  and perpetual preservation of affordability of housing on that land.”
