Forest Village Homes is Yellow Springs Home, Inc.'s pilot project in affordable multifamily rental housing. Home, Inc. received funding from the Finance Fund, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, and The Huntington National Bank totaling nearly $900,000 in affordability subsidy to make the $1,019,000 project affordable to households with special needs including seniors making an average of less than 50% of Area Median Income.
One unit of the six-unit project will be reserved for tenants with developmental disabilities. The garden cottages located on two sites on Dayton Street will be one-story, accessible units with highly energy efficient features. One and two-bedroom units are planned. Home, Inc. is finalizing plans and anticipates starting construction soon.
