Cash contributions are always
welcome, but in addition to, or instead of cash, you can....
Donate
land:
Home Inc. will build an affordable house on it and sell it
to an income-qualified buyer. |
Donate
a House you no longer need:
Home Inc. can sell or rent it to an income-qualified
person. |
| Bequest
land or a house to Home Inc. in your will. |
Sell
Real Estate to a private individual with a stipulation
that part of the proceeds go to Home Inc. |
| Start
an Endowment to be use by Home Inc. to provide affordable
housing. You can stipulate how the endowment and its proceeds
are to be used. |
|
If you don't have cash, land, or a
house to donate, but still want to make a difference, consider the
following....
- Volunteer your time for
home building or rehabilitation
- Donate large appliances or
building materials.
|
- Serve on the Home Inc.
Board or one of its Committees
- Volunteer your
professional expertise in such fields as real estate,
accounting or law.
|
And lastly, don't forget, Home Inc.
is not the only way to support affordable housing in Yellow
Springs...
- If you are a rental property
owner, consider not raising the rent as much as you would
normally.
- If you are selling your home,
consider selling for a lower price that you would otherwise sell
it.
- If you own a home that is not
currently inhabited, sell it or rent it at an affordable price.
- If you live in a home that is
too big for you or your family, consider moving into a smaller
home or renting out a portion.
- If you own a piece of land that
is currently not being used, consider building an affordable
home on it.
